Dwight Huntley, Organist

Dwight Huntley grew up in Western Kentucky and Southwestern Indiana.  His father is a retired Southern Baptist Minister, and his mother was his first piano teacher.  He began playing the piano for Sunday school when he was in the fifth grade, and he began serving as the organist at his church when he was a sophomore in high school.  Dwight received B.S. degrees in Computing Science, Accounting, and Music and Associated Studies from the University of Evansville.

Before moving to Indianapolis in 2006, Dwight lived in Evansville for twenty-three years and was employed by St. Benedict Cathedral, Systems and Computer Technology Inc., the University of Evansville, and Governmental Data Processing.  He is currently employed as a Business Systems Consultant for the State of Indiana’s Family and Social Services Administration.  He previously worked for the State of Indiana’s Departments of Child Services and Workforce Development.

While living in Evansville, Dwight served as organist at Howell United Methodist Church, St. Benedict Cathedral and Salem United Methodist Church.  He later served as the Director of Liturgical Music/Organist at St. Benedict Cathedral.  After moving to Indianapolis, Dwight served as Director of Music/Organist at St. John United Church of Christ in Cumberland and as Organist/Pianist at Southport United Methodist Church.

Dwight is new to Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church and will be accompanying the Chancel Choir as well as serving as organist for Sunday services.
